Last weekend, 20 people participated in a silent retreat under the guidance of Father Daniel Ribeiro at the Diocesan Retreat House in Coloane. More than just engaging in a period of spiritual reflection, the retreat provided participants with an opportunity for a personal encounter with God.
The pastoral care team in charge of the Portuguese-speaking community at the Cathedral parish invited elderly parishioners to a social event – the first of its kind aimed at the Lusophone flock – which sought to answer some of the concerns that were raised by local Catholics during the diocesan phase of the Synod of Bishops.

The Perosi Choir has been promoting the art of choral singing in Macau over the last quarter century and will celebrate its silver jubilee with not one, but two concerts. Saint Joseph International Nursery, a leading multicultural kindergarten created by the Catholic Diocese of Macau three years ago, has been granted permission to enroll a larger number of students starting from January. The Social Affairs Bureau has given the nursery the green light to open a new classroom and recruit over two dozen more students.
The 53rd edition of the Caritas Charity Bazaar raised an estimated 5-6 million patacas with fewer visitors, but with the same spirit of solidarity and mutual accountability. The amount will be used to fund the organization’s activities that are not financed by the government.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus inspired contest attracted the participation of over two dozen children who attend catechesis at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady.

The purpose is to answer the concerns of the Portuguese-speaking community that were brought to light during the diocesan phase of the Synod of Bishops.
