“We cultivate students based on the faith of Christ”

Macau’s 26 Catholic schools and colleges are attracting more and more students, Mr. Stephan Chan Teng-fong tells O Clarim. The managing director of the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission claims there has been a sustained growth, over recent years, in the numbers of students enrolled in Catholic–oriented educational establishments. In an expansive interview, Mr. Chan – who is also an advisor at Colégio Diocesano de São José – talks about the values and mission of the local Catholic schools, as well as the challenges that they face.

Father Tham’s harmonious brush worships God through art

Exhibited in countries such as the United States of America, Canada and Malaysia, the Art for God exhibition will make its Macau debut this coming Friday, September 22nd. Organized by the Macau Catholic Culture Association and co-organized by the Regina Apostolorum Foundation from neighboring Hong Kong, the exhibition will display over 50 calligraphy, brush painting and seal carving artworks created by Father Joseph Tham Kit-chee.

University of Saint Joseph to launch Master of Catholic Studies

USJ FRSP (University of St Joseph -Faculty of Religious Studies and Philosophy) will revive its Bachelor of Philosophy program this fall with a greater emphasis on the philosophical and religious dimensions of human life. Later on, in spring, the Faculty of Religious Studies and Philosophy intends to start recruiting students for a new Master of Catholic Studies degree.
