The Diocesan Youth Commission will hold this Wednesday its very first open day with the aim of introducing the new Diocesan Youth Centre to Macau’s population. The Commission wants the facilities, located at Rua Formosa, to become a reference point for the Special Administrative Region’s younger generations.
The Diocesan Youth Commission invited young people, aged 14 to 35, to bring color and life to a new mural, located on the basketball court of the new Diocesan Center on Rua Formosa. The artwork will be completed this Saturday, almost two months after an online brainstorming session decided the contents of the mural.
The Catholic Diocese of Macau postponed its summer program to August due to the current Covid-19 outbreak, but the Diocesan Youth Commission does not exclude the possibility of canceling the initiative. Macau’s participation in next year’s World Youth Day is also shrouded in doubt.

A group of students will sing Christmas carols in Senado Square on Christmas Eve, the first-ever initiative promoted by the newly established Diocesan Youth Commission. Officially instituted at the end of November, the new Commission replaces the now extinct Diocesan Pastoral Youth Centre and inherits the mission of coordinating “the ministry of youth in the Diocese of Macau.”
