The local branch of the Society of Jesus created a brand-new formation space, conceived so that laypeople can train other laypeople. The newly-created ‘Xavier Hall’ was inaugurated on December 2 by Father Stephen Tong Chak-Iong. The Provincial of the Society’s Chinese Province visited Macau to celebrate Saint Francis Xavier’s feast day with Macau’s Jesuit community.
“The Story of St. Frances Xavier Parish, Mong Ha”, an exhibition which began in mid-January, takes visitors on a journey through more than a hundred years of historical time to revisit memories of the growth of the Parish.
Fr. Pedro Chong said that the exhibition wishes to show the Lord’s presence in the community of Mong-Ha and to explain the mission of the parish. “History is not made by man. Man is only a visitor who participates in the formation of history.”
The Lord Jesus is present in the past, in the present, and in the future.
