The transformative power of the Holy Spirit is so utterly sublime and powerful. It takes what would be considered completely useless and turns it into gold to be offered in obeisance to the Lord. The Spirit fills us with the love of God and opens the Church to all peoples, irrespective of origin.
Let this Pentecost remind us that the outpouring of God’s Spirit is essential to humans understanding each other with the mind of God. The breath of the Paraclete is crucial to true contrition and the forgiveness that must follow.
As Christians, we believe that we owe our being to God, who breathes life into us. This breath of life, the Holy Spirit, is integral to our existence and the essence of our prayer life and spiritual growth.
Staying still in the Spirit, allowing Him to work in us in quietude, is the only way we can achieve the spiritual gifts we need to fulfill God’s mission here in this world.
