In response to Pope Francis’ appeal concerning the situation in Ukraine, Bishop Stephen LEE has instructed that all parishes to arrange a one-hour public Eucharistic adoration on 2nd March (Ash Wednesday) to pray for the intention of peace. Parishioners are asked to take note of the details released by their parishes. It is also the Church’s established day of penance and Catholics of the required age are obligated to observe fasting and abstinence.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) will collaborate with Saint John Paul II Catholic University, a newly established East Timorese higher education institution. As soon as the epidemic scenario allows travel to resume, USJ intends to institute exchange programs with East Timor’s Catholic University for students and teachers alike.

Bishop Stephen LEE has made the following appointments, effective from 1st March 2022.
For several years, foreign workers have provided a valuable workforce in various establishments and households in Macau. Recently, the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll largely on their employment and their lives.
Starting from next Thursday, the local Catholic University will try to answer questions such as “Can we know that God exists?” or “Is there evidence for God?” in a series of lectures promoted by the Faculty of Religious Studies and Philosophy. An Associate Professor of Philosophy at USJ, Tyler McNabb will argue, in the inaugural lecture, for the thesis that religious belief can be rational, justified or warranted apart from argument. With a degree in Medicine, the young Macanese seminarian says he desires to fulfil his vocation at the service of Macau’s Catholics. The greatest challenge he faces, Agostinho claims, is to reawaken faith in those that are too accommodated to the world. The seminarian spoke with O Clarim.
The Saint Francis Xavier Church Parish Centre, in Mong-Há, will host, starting from the 1st of March until June 7th, a twelve-lesson course on the Gospel of Saint Luke. The Macau Catholic Biblical Association hopes to attract up to fifty participants. Catholics and catechumens, in particular, are welcome to participate.
