The letters of the alphabet

José Maria C.S. André

Whoever invented the alphabet, millennia ago, didn’t think it would also be used to list the deviations of gender ideology. Above all, those inventors would have been amazed that the letters weren’t enough. The list usually starts with LGBT and ends with a + sign to symbolize the infinite number of letters that follow. For example, letter X corresponds to xenogender, which designates those who do not identify with the human gender, but with an animal, vegetable or mineral gender. The alphabet ends in Z, but the craziness continues far beyond Z.

How did we get to this point? By a path full of contradictions.

It began by contrasting “gender” with the anatomical reality of sex. “Gender” was an imposed cultural and social construction, independent of anatomy, which shaped us from an early age to be either male or female.

From this complete exaggeration, it evolved into its contradiction: “gender” would be a non-objectifiable individual perception, a self-determination of the individual, unrelated to the body or to society.

We’ve gone from the extreme of gender being a collective imposition to the extreme of it being imposed on society by individual will.

Everything is contradictory in gender ideology. If it is not a disease for a person with a woman’s body to consider herself a man, why should the National Health Service pay for the change in sexual characteristics? Contradictory doesn’t always mean reversible, because hormone therapies and genital mutilation cause irreparable destruction. Contradictory is the opposite of freedom, because these therapies condemn victims, even minors, for life. And they are not called “conversion therapies”, as they really are, but “emancipation of the body” and “liberating dynamics”!

Some elements of Trump’s campaign suggested that he introduce himself at the inauguration as the first black woman to become President of the United States. Apart from the moment of comedy, it would force the newspapers to agree that a black woman had become President. Because, according to the legislation in force, created by the sponsors of gender ideology, if any newspaper questioned this, it would be condemned for hate speech. We don’t know if Trump will use this pretext to close down the newspapers that oppose him, but what is clear is that crazy ideas have uncontrollable consequences.

Gender ideology began as a fight by women against patriarchy and now it forces women to admit men to women’s sports competitions and forces them to share bathrooms with men. The height of contradiction! In the name of fighting sexism, it subjugates women to the whims of men!

But that’s what gender ideology is, a bag of contradictory, fluid, mutable notions. Everything is precarious and conventional and…there could be no greater paradox! They want to force us to submit to this madness and accompany it in its mutations. The head of a school cluster told me a few days ago that a student wanted to change his name to a girl’s name, and after a short time he wanted to be a boy again, and then a girl again. The school’s decision was to tell him that he could only change his gender once a year. Of course, in Portugal, this limitation is illegal and minors have the right to change, as many times as they like, the name by which the law obliges us to address them, the name that appears on the school register, etc. The law even says that the state has a duty to promote (sic) this right.

In the name of freedom, society and states are required to recognize the perceptions of identity that pop up in everyone’s head, and there are plenty of criminal consequences for anyone who is not willing to go along with this dictatorship of individualism.

One of the dictatorial fruits of this ideology is the Portuguese law that applies the harshest penalties to what it calls “conversion therapies”. A contradictory name, like everything else in this decadent madness, because it is not honest therapies that foster change, on the contrary, they help people, with all due respect, to understand what they are.

The gender dictatorship invokes the authority of science, but this too is contradictory, because this ideology rejects precisely the objective nature of reality. There is no objectivity and no arguments! Everything is changeable and irrational!

There aren’t even enough letters in the alphabet.
