BISHOP SPRINGS SURPRISE, CELEBRATES MASS FOR ALL – English Catechism Group Celebrations Before The Summer Holidays

– Miguel Augusto

Last Sunday, 1st of July, the English catechism group with respective families and friends, celebrated the last class before the summer holidays with a special Mass in the new chapel of the Diocesan College of St Joseph – designed by our bishop – close to the Episcopal Palace. The group was pleasantly surprised by the presence of our Most Reverend Bishop Stephen Lee, who celebrated Mass “inaugurating” the new Chapel. The children participated with a big enthusiasm in the Mass, volunteering to make the readings, the responsorial psalms and the prayer of the faithful. In his homily, Bishop Stephen Lee said that that we may fall, but the mercy of God will help to lift us up.

The Mass ended with a pleasant get-together with the catechists, students and their families with Bishop Lee, in an exchange of ideas and an encouragement from the Bishop to the children to continue to practice, during the summer holidays, their faith and the Catholic teachings which they have learned.

The last class culminated with a lunch and the birthday celebration of some students.
