Also known as GELMac, the local Catholic “Grupo de Escuteiros Lusófonos de Macau“ (Lusophone Scouts Group of Macau) traveled on May 11-12 to Hong Kong, as part of a joint activity with the Scout Association of Hong Kong, one of the oldest Scout groups in Asia-Pacific.

“The group of 11 scouts and adults, age 10–16, stayed overnight in a scout camp, and the next day had an intensive training, followed by a small project where they could put into practice the knowledge acquired. In the end, there was still room for a good time with their counterparts in Hong Kong, by playing games together,” a statement sent to O CLARIM reads.

The activity held in Hong Kong is part of a GELMac project for the internal training of scouts and managers in the area of construction and pioneering of bamboo structures, to be used in the field. “This training was prepared by the Hong Kong group, specifically for the age of our scouts,” the statement adds.
