Scholarships are to be awarded to academically-deserving inmates through the University of St Joseph’s Prison Outreach Program. This advancement in the program will benefit previously disadvantaged prisoners, giving them access to a better education and, consequently, a better life.

The Bishop of Macau, Most Reverend Stephen Lee Bun-sang, celebrated this morning a Thanksgiving Mass for the 25th anniversary of the University of Saint Joseph. The bishop cited Pope Francis’ Patris corde which talks about St Joseph and encouraged everyone to learn from his fatherly virtues.
USJ to cooperate with East Timor’s Catholic University
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) will collaborate with Saint John Paul II Catholic University, a newly established East Timorese higher education institution. As soon as the epidemic scenario allows travel to resume, USJ intends to institute exchange programs with East Timor’s Catholic University for students and teachers alike.
USJ signs agreements with Guangdong universities
The University of Saint Joseph is a step closer to fulfilling its aim to demonstrate that it is “a university in, of and for Macau” and “in, of and for China”. The Catholic-run University announced recently that it has signed exchange agreements with two higher education institutions from the neighbouring province of Guangdong.
USJ transitions faster to a digital classroom
The agility with which the University of Saint Joseph transitioned, in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, from regular classes to a digital environment, gave Macau’s Catholic University the tools and the experience to adapt skilfully, quickly and effectively to the sudden alteration of the epidemic panorama in the Special Administrative Region.
