HOLY CROSS CHAPEL – USJ holds Easter Mass

– Maria Kwak

Last Friday, 3 May 2019, Bishop of Macau and Chancellor of USJ, His Excellency Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang, officiated the Easter Mass for staff and students of USJ in the Holy Cross Chapel at 3:30 pm

In the homily, the Bishop explained the meaning of Easter and the role of the staff and students of USJ as a Catholic institution. Drawing from the day’s Gospel, he emphasised that each one is given a specific mission to be a witness to the mystery of Christ’s resurrection. He encouraged the USJ Catholic community  using a verse of Saint Luke, telling them: “Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Luke 12:7).

The USJ Ilha Verde Campus will be officially inaugurated on May 10. The campus started operations in 2017. In March this year,  His Eminence Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples officiated the blessing of the campus

The official inauguration will be followed by the International Cultural Fair and Languages Day 2019, aimed at providing an opportunity for exchange to the school community comprised of people from 50 different countries.
