TIME TO PRAY AND LOOK FOR DIOCESAN VOCATIONS – Feast Day Of The Assumption Of Mary

– Pedro Daniel Oliveira

On Wednesday, August 15, the Diocese of Macau celebrated the Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary, with a Solemn Mass in the Cathedral presided over by Bishop Stephen Lee Bun-sang.

“The solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady, which takes place each year in the Catholic Church’s liturgical calendar, had a special feature this year, since the Diocese of Macau consecrated this day for the prayer of diocesan priestly vocations,” the Cathedral of Macau Parish Vicar Fr Daniel Ribeiro told O CLARIM.

“The Diocese has vocations for the Seminary,” but apart from “the work of dissemination that is being carried out in colleges and in the media,” Fr Ribeiro added, “at the end of the Holy Mass some videos in Portuguese and Chinese were screened,” in order to “invite young people to get to know the Seminary and, possibly, to become seminarians.” The ultimate goal, he stated, is to allow them to “participate in the vocation process of the Diocese.”
