On Sunday, August 12, the Macau Diocese celebrates the “Parish Day of Saint Lawrence’s Church”, with a solemn Mass presided over by Msgr Stephen Lee Bun-sang, during which 7 parishioners will receive the sacraments of confirmation.

“After the Eucharist we will have a big family lunch, in which we are expecting around 400 plus people to join. We will also have some games and entertainment program to relax and re-energize ourselves,” Parish Priest Fr Jojo Ancheril, CMF, told O CLARIM. “This year we have solemn 9 days novena with Rosary and Eucharistic Adoration, and Mass. We hope this will enhance our faith life,” he added.

Fr Ancheril also mentioned the relic of Saint Lawrence is exposed for reverence in the main Church. “We hope and pray that with the powerful intercession of Saint Lawrence we will be able to lead a good Catholic life, and give glory to God in whatever we do.”

The goal of this festivity is “to thank God for all the blessings that we receive in our day today life, and also to feel that we belong to one family,” he said. It is an opportunity “to express our thanks and gratitude to all who are associated with Saint Lawrence’s Church,” also “to know each other, and to enhance our relationships in the church and society.”
