The Couples for Christ Macau Association (CFCMA), a non-profit and religious organization registered with the Macau Government and the Macau Diocese celebrated their 20th Anniversary last August 23, 2020 with this year’s theme “Called to Holiness.”
All members of different ministries such as CFC, Handmaids of the Lord, Singles for Christ, Youth for Christ & Kids for Christ gathered at the Hotel Rivera at Pousada Ritz Macau SAR for an hour of a short praise and worship and to celebrate with gratitude and faithfulness while asking divine protection especially in this time of uncertainty.
The program featured video greetings and messages from the elders of Global Mission Center and video presentation, reminiscing the journey of the Couples for Christ Macau through the years. CFC Macau Mission Head Danilo Ngo, together with his wife Senen Ngo, delivered words of encouragement to continue to be resilient, faithful to the will of God and fidelity to the Lord’s calling and persevere in holiness especially at this time of difficulties.
Different ministries rendered their performances in line with this year’s celebration theme.
The highlight of the program was the thanksgiving Mass celebrated at 6:30 PM at the Se Cathedral, officiated by the CFC Macau Spiritual Director Fr Leonardo Dollentas. The members had initiated a simple fund raising among themselves which was offered during the Mass. The fundraising was a gesture of solidarity to help earthquake victims in Masbate, Philippines, especially the poor families.
The Couples for Christ is committed and strives to be faithful in carrying out the mission and vision of the community in helping the poor. During this pandemic, the CFC Macau was grateful to share and give a simple ‘ayuda’ (help) to its members here in Macau and also a bit of financial aid to the Global Mission Center which serves as the head office sending missionaries all over the world, continuously providing aid to the less fortunate and to its scholars all over the Philippines.
Through the years, CFC Macau has participated in the pastoral care and formation of various Catholic communities around Macau. This is apart from the regular service they render at the Se Cathedral where they provide singers for the choir, ushers and collectors.
As the CFC Macau enters a new decade this year, with the challenging difficulties due to the pandemic situation, they are dedicated to pursue their faith and are devoted to struggle for holiness as well as to be witnesses to today’s families and communities.
