Servile Labour on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception for 2019
The 8th of December falls on the Sunday of Advent this year, thus the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Principal Patronal Solemnity of this Diocese) is transferred to the following Monday on the 9th of December.
Considering that the 9th of December is not a public holiday, Bishop Stephen Lee is dispensing the faithful from the obligation to participate in the Mass and from the obligation to abstain from servile labour on that day. All are however encouraged to participate in the evening Solemn Mass in celebration of the Diocesan Patronal Solemnity 7:00 pm at the Cathedral.
