Children enrolled at the Macau Cathedral Sunday English catechism class were delighted with the short program prepared for them last Sunday, June 30 2019 at the Cathedral Parish office Hall. It was the culmination day of their catechism class.
The program started with the Mass at 11:00 AM, with the parents in attendance. Sunday school teachers Ms Josephina Hao and Ms Peggy Munarriz handed to the children their Sunday School Program Completion Certificates for 2018-2019.
The class awardees were the following: for children preparing for first communion, best in attendance – Jayden Ritchie and Francisco Chan; best in participation – Mark Jacob Mercurio Macasu and Edna Ritchie. For those preparing for confirmation (Girls Section), best in punctuality – Clare Chan; best in attendance – Matilde Neves dos Santos Augusto; best in participation- Michelle Andreia Luisa Ferreira Lei. As for the Sunday catechism class afternoon session, best in attendance – Harvey James L. Dumile, best in punctuality – Baniwas Kimbes Larry Briant, best in participation – Miguel Xavier Neves dos Santos Augusto. After the giving of certificates, all took part in the lunch prepared by the parents.
These groups meet separately with respective Sunday school teachers every Sunday. But they all join up every 3rd Sunday of the month for the Sunday Mass with their parents at the chapel of St Joseph School 2 and 3.
Meanwhile, the Catechetical Ministry for the English Sunday group has released their tentative schedule for the 2019-2020 Catechetical Program from September to June. The program will primarily focus on English speaking children of the Church goers attending the English Masses at the Macau Cathedral. The program will give priority to those children who are preparing for first communion and confirmation.
