The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) wishes to announce that Sister Natividad Mugarza Mecolalde has returned to the Father’s house on 23 April 2019 and requests our brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for the repose of her soul.
Sister Natividad was born in Spain on 24 December 1922. She entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in 1944. After her temporal vows, she was sent to serve in Macau and Hong Kong in 1947. In 1949, she made her perpetual vows at the Saint Clare convent in Macau.
She served in both HK and Macau for 72 years, in all types of formative activities and centers: Macau Franciscan Missionary school, Macau hospital of St Raphael, Santa Rosa Kindergarten (HK and Macau), Ma On Shan and Macau Northern District.
Sister Natividad possessed an open character, was full of joy and cheer, could sing and dance, loved prayer, was faithful to the spirit of the Congregation, loved our Founder Mother Mary of the Passion and taught younger generations.
We pray the Lord to give His faithful servant eternal life and joy.
The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary have organized prayers and a Mass at 8:00 PM on 3 May in the Macau Catholic Mortuary for the soul of Sister Natividad. The funeral Mass will be held on 4 May, at 11:30 AM, followed by interment at the Macau Saint Michael Cemetery.
