Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang would like to announce the following:
1. Earthquake in Sulawesi (Indonesia)
A few days ago, a portion of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi was devastated by an earthquake and the resulting tsunami which has caused many grave injuries and deaths. In solidarity with and as a sign of Christian compassion for those affected: On 7 October (Sunday) in all Masses, a second collection should be taken as a concrete sign of solidarity with the victims. The donation will be sent to the affected area by the Procuration Office of the Paço Episcopal.
2. Pray for the Church
The Holy Father invites all the faithful to pray for the Church, and in particular to pray the Holy Rosary each day in the month of October, asking the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Michael the Archangel to protect the Church and to prevent the devil from sowing division among Christian groups in this time of crisis. The Holy Father invites us to add the following prayers at the end of the recitation of the Holy Rosary:
“SUB TUUM PRAESIDIUM”
We fly to your patronage, O Most Holy Mother of God, despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
“PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL”
St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Macau, 4 October 2018.
