On Sunday afternoon, November 6th, Fr Raul Caga, SVD, performed a fund raising concert, “The Glorious Praise” at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Macau. The money raised at the concert will be donated for the formation of future priests at Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay, Philippines.
Fr. Caga’s passion for music and singing led him to make music ministry an important part of his priestly work. He has released five albums, performed in more than fifty concerts in the Philippines, America, Europe and Asia. He has also collaborated with Cardinal Antonio Tagle in his latest album. In 2005, his album “Called by Love” was the finalist in the Catholic Mass Media Awards for Best religious album, but won as the Best inspirational album in the 34th CMMA in 2012.
“I think, the event was a resounding success,” said Rachel Peralta the event organizer. “Despite limited preparation time, the event went well. The church hall was full, those who came to watch felt inspired to serve more and were happy to have experienced a gospel concert like this. The cooperation among majority of us at Fatima also shows the spirit of service and unity. My other purpose for bringing the concert here aside from raising funds for DWST was to promote the church among Filipinos and non-Chinese Catholics because not many people know about Fatima church even those who live nearby.”
The concert had about three hundred audience in attendance and managed to raise MOP 16,900. The English community of Our Lady of Fatima Parish were the main sponsors for the event.
