USJ holds 2015 Scholarships and Research Awards Ceremony

University of Saint Joseph held its 2015 Scholarship Award Ceremony at the Chapel of Saint Joseph Seminary on 2 December 2015. Ninety-five undergraduate students and 2014/2015 graduates received a total of 101 scholarships donated by different organizations and individuals amounting to MOP 1,062,500. USJ also awarded 10 Bank of China Macao Branch Best Research Awards to academic staff for their contribution in academic research.

More than 20 representatives from USJ’s community scholarship donors were present in the ceremony. Donors include The Most Reverend D. José Lai, Bishop of Macau, Macau Foundation, Social Welfare Bureau (IASM), Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP), Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM), BNU, Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Center, Henry Fok Foundation, International Ladies’ Club of Macau, Parry’s Group, Sands China Ltd, CTM, CEM, Ms. Jenny Kong, CESL Asia Ltd, Galaxy Entertainment Group, CPM – Macau Parking Company Ltd, Wu’s Group, Alumni Association of USJ, Mr. Kuan Vai Lam, Bank of China, Society of the Divine Word (SVD), and Ms. Sio Wai Chu.

The USJ Scholarship Award Ceremony takes place each year to encourage and support students with outstanding academic performance or those with financial difficulties. This year, a Research Award Ceremony was included to encourage academic staff in their effort to contribute to the society through academic research.
