The Congregation of Our Lady of Fatima is organizing the “Devotion to Our Lady of Fatima” at St Dominic’s Church, as a result of the 100th anniversary of the Virgin Mary’s apparitions to the three little shepherds, in Cova da Iria, Portugal.

Spiritual formation takes place every first Saturday and the 13th of each month at 3:00 PM. It is followed by the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 3:30 PM, the Rosary at 4:30 PM and Mass at 5:00 PM. On the remaining Saturdays, the Rosary begins at 4:30 PM and Mass at 5:00 PM.

“This devotion is an extension of the centenary. It’s common practice to have it all first Saturdays and the 13th of each month, but now it’s the right thing to tell the remaining Catholic community to engage in this centenary spirit, giving a little more time to prayer, besides having a priest to spiritual formation,” Fr Luís Sequeira, SJ, told O CLARIM. As one of the devotion’s coordinators, he praised Fr João Eleutério for his work towards the devotees.

“We are three priests coordinating this religious activity. I provide ecclesiastical assistance to the group of faithful. Fr João Eleutério, who has been more active, takes care of their spiritual formation, while Fr Peter [Stilwell] also has a direct engagement,” Fr Sequeira explained. The devotion is done in Portuguese.
